Inspectors
Inspectors are an important part of the closing process. Whether you are purchasing a home in Chapel Hill, Carrboro, Durham, or elsewhere, it is strongly recommended that home buyers have inspections performed by licensed professional inspectors. Once you are under contract, Tom and his team will coordinate and manage the inspections process for you. Most buyers will need to choose
a Home Inspector to thoroughly review all systems, equipment, and conditions in the home. Whether your contract calls for purchasing the home “as-is” or calls for the seller to make repairs, the Home Inspection provides a comprehensive list of all issues that need to be addressed. A report is issued by the inspector that serves as the basis for negotiating repairs
and obtaining repair estimates from contractors.
Termites and other infestation can be common in the Triangle and throughout North Carolina. For this reason, most home buyers will need to choose a licensed Pest Inspector to look for signs of termite or other pests. A pest inspector searches the crawlspace, basement, garage, attic and exterior of a home for signs of trouble. Termite treatment and extermination
services are available depending on what kind of issue is uncovered.
Structural Inspections may or may not be warranted when you purchase a home. These are typically conducted by a licensed Structural Engineer as a follow-up to a problem identified during the Home Inspection.
Well and Septic Inspections are common on rural properties where city water and sewer services are not available. As we all know, it is critical to have healthy drinking water and proper sanitation for a home to operate correctly.
